Requisito linguistico per i corsi di studio (DF, DIA, DMG, DSCF, DSV, DSM, DISU-Scienze della Formazione Primaria, IUSLIT-Sezione Giuridica)

Language skills (English, French, Spanish, German) for degree programmes (DF, DIA, DMG, DSCF, DSV, DSM, DISU – Primary Education Sciences, IUSLIT – Legal Section)

Students enrolled in the following programmes:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Single-cycle Master’s degree
  • Master’s degree

need to obtain ECTS credits related to language skills, usually for English (B1 or B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference – CEFR).

How to obtain your language ECTS credits

You have three options:

  1. Submit an accepted language certificate: the certificate must be included in the AICLU table. Follow the instructions in the dedicated Moodle.
  2. Take a placement test organized by the CLA (University Language Centre): book one of the available dates listed in the dedicated Moodle.
  3. Request credit recognition for a previous academic career: if in a previous university programme you already passed a language exam at the required level (clearly indicated in the course title), the credits can be recognized automatically. In this case, contact the Student Careers Office of your degree programme.

Please note: Language credits must be obtained by the last available date to sit the final exam of your degree programme. Check the deadlines on your programme’s website.

Placement tests organized by the CLA

If you choose to obtain the credits through CLA tests, the procedure is as follows:

  1. Book and take the first in-person placement test to assess your level.
  2. If you do not pass the test, you will receive a Rosetta Stone Catalyst licence. You must complete at least 30 hours of work on the platform before accessing the second test.
  3. Book and take the second test.

Continue following the procedure until you reach the level required by your degree programme. If you do not pass the test after several attempts, you may receive language support from a native-speaker CEL (subject to availability), and then take the test again.

Recording of ECTS credits

Once you have passed the test at the required level, the ECTS credits will be recorded in your academic transcript by the Student Careers Office. Depending on your study plan, the credits may appear:

  • as a single module, or
  • divided into several modules.

For specific details, contact the Secretariat of your Department.
